A brief selection of Andalusian – Constantinian melodies. Elaborated in Baghdad in about the second century after Hegira by the famous Zyryeb, they were supposed to have contained 24 Sanâ, each corresponding to a particular hour of the day or the night. We present here extracts from five of these melodies.
