Eid al-Adha 2020 (1441)

Eid al-Adha 2020 date - makkahcalendar.org
Eid al-adha 2020-1441 - makkahcalendar.org

When is Eid al Adha 2020 (1441)?

We are pleased to inform you that Dhul-Hijjah 2020 (1441) will start on Wednesday, 22nd July in all countries of the world! Hence, the whole world could celebrate Eid al Adha on Friday, 31st July 2020, insha-Allah!

We invite you to take a look at the visibility curves for Dhul-Hijjah 1441.You will notice that the Dhul-Hijjah moon will be born very late on Monday, July 20 at 17:32 UTC. Hence it will not be directly visible in any part of the world. As there will be no visibility of crescent in any part of the world on 20th July, Dhul-Hijjah cannot start on 21st July. We now invite you to see the visibility curve of 21st July. It is evident from the curve that crescent visibility will be achieved in most parts of the world on 21st July, 2020. The countries where direct visibility is not achieved will be covered by the extension of the zone of the visibility. Hence, Dhul-Hijjah 2020 will start on Wednesday, 22nd July in all countries of the world and the whole world will be able to celebrate Eid al Adha on the same day, 31st July 2020. The event is rare, and merits special notice.

We have published below an extensive list of countries arranged as per the Eid al Adha 2020 celebration date. Those who would like to get more details about why Eid al Adha will be on the same day in the whole world are requested to read our detailed introduction to the Islamic Calendar.

Since Dhul-Hijjah will start on 22nd July in Saudi Arabia, Wuquf Arafat will be on Thursday, 30th July.

Similar to Ramadan and Eid 2020, we will publish Eid al Adha 2020 (Dhul-Hijjah 1441) live moon sighting reports on our website. We invite you to visit our site towards the end of the Dhul-Qi'dah to get updates about crescent sighting.

We have already published the Hegirian calendar presented according to the months of the Gregorian year 2021, and also the traditional Hegirian calendar for 1442. And this, for each country in the world. You can download them by clicking on the download page of the Islamic calendar.
