Eid al-Adha 2019 (1440)

Eid al-Adha 2019 date - makkahcalendar.org
Eid al-adha 2019-1440 - makkahcalendar.org

When is Eid al-Adha 2019 (1440)?

Dhul-Hijjah 2019 (1440) will start on Wednesday, 2nd August 2019 in North, Central and South America as well as in French Polynesia, all of Africa, Europe and most countries of Asia. In the rest of the Asian countries and in the major part of Oceania, the first day of Dhul-Hijjah 2019 will be one day later, on 3rd August 2019. The countries that start Dhul-Hijjah on 2nd August will celebrate Eid al Adha [Aid El Kebir 1440] on 11th August 2019 while those that start Dhul-Hijjah on 3rd August will celebrate Eid al Adha on 12th August 2019.

We invite you to take a look at the visibility curves for Dhul-Hijjah. You will notice that the Dhul-Hijjah moon will be born on Thursday, August 01 at 03:11 UTC. As can be seen in the visibility curves, there are good chances of crescent visibility in French Polynesia and as some areas of north and southern America. These countries are in a blue zone, there also are good chances of crescent visibility on the evening of 01st August, if the weather conditions are good. As direct visibility will be acquired in and near French Polynesia before Fajr prayers in North, Central and South American countries, all the Asian countries as well as all of Africa and Europe, Dhu-al-Hijjah will start there on the next day, 2nd August 2019 (concept of extended visibility). The rest of the Asian countries and the major part of Oceania will start Dhul-Hijjah on 3rd August.

We have published below an extensive list of countries arranged as per the Eid al Adha 2019 celebration date. Those who would like to get more details about why Eid al Adha 2019 will be on two different dates in the world are requested to read our detailed introduction to the Islamic Calendar.

Since Eid al Adha will be celebrated on 11th August in Saudi Arabia, Wuquf Arafat will be on 10th August.

Similar to Eid al Fitr, we will publish Eid al Adha live moon sighting reports on this page. We invite you to visit our site towards the end of the Dhul-Qi'dah 2019 to get updates about crescent sighting.

Please feel free to contact us by writing to us at [email protected] if anything is not clear or if you need further information.

We wish all our viewers Eid Mubarak in Advance!
